Introducing Kenny Blacksmith
Our Heavenly Father, from one man you created all nations, that they should inhabit the whole earth, and you marked out their appointed times in history and the boundaries of their lands. You did this so that men would seek you, and perhaps reach out to you, and find you; for you are never far from anyone of us.
I stand here today as a representative of the original and host peoples of this land, and acknowledge you placed us here at least 10,000 years ago for such a time as this; and in keeping with the ways of our people, I welcome, honour and bless these people who have chosen to stand in unity with one voice and with one heart to honour the sanctity of all life.
The spiritual report card on the moral integrity of our nation is marked with an ‘F’; and on this watershed moment, we acknowledge much bloodshed, broken covenants, immorality and adultery run deep in the veins of our home land. Lord, you would say to us; “What have you done? The innocent blood of millions of pre-born children cries out to me from the ground.”
Our leaders have failed. Our laws have failed to protect the precious gift of life at all stages in our people and in our nation. Canada will certainly reap what it has sown. We have failed to speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves; or to ensure justice for those being crushed.
Lord all your ways are just for you are a God of faithfulness and without injustice. Righteousness and justice are the foundation of your throne.
We humbly bow before your Lordship and confess our sin, and call out for mercy. We ask you to forgive us for believing our self-righteousness, fundamenta
We know it will not be by our own power or by our own might that we will overcome what is before us but we call on your Holy Spirit to lead us in our march to right what has been wronged.
Let the path of the righteous be like the first gleam of dawn, shining brighter till the full light of day.
Let this be a new beginning for the Body of Christ in Canada to be awakened as a sleeping giant and to move in their God-given mandate, spiritual authority and might in Christ to influence and impact life-giving change in our people, governments and nation.
Let this day, be the day that You will shut all doors to a negative past and that You will open new doors that bring truth, justice and life abundantly to all people in our nation.
Let this day, be the day that people will say, “Look what the Lord has done for Canada.”
To the glory, honour and power of Jesus Christ our Lord, our Saviour, our Redeemer, and our Advocate. Amen!
